Jamie: What’s a sous chef’s favorite song? Dice, dice, baby.

Cassie: OMG. That’s awful.

Jamie: I was watching Top Chef. You should be on that.

Cassie: Yeah, definitely not ready for that. If ever.

Jamie: You would totally win. Miss you, Cas.

Cassie: Miss you, too.

“Why can’t I stop staring at this?” I asked Isabel as she poured another pitcher of mirror glaze over a vanilla cake we had suspended on a can. The glaze marbled across the surface of the cake, a riot of blues and purples. The colors shifted as she poured, merging and cascading down the sides and onto the wire rack below the can.

Isabel laughed. “Isn’t that the point of the video?”

“Yes, but it’s freaking weird how I could watch this for hours.”

“That’s what we want, boss,” Eliot, my camera tech, said as he changed one of the camera angles and the lighting tech moved one of the photo lamps to the other side of the table.

I walked around the table and looked at Eliot’s shot. He was our best camera guy, but I wanted to see exactly how it would look on the screen to make sure we got every shot we needed so we didn’t have to go back for additional takes.

We always had amazing hits online when we posted one of these mesmerizing videos. A lot of our commenters said it was therapeutic to watch. The stress of their day would vanish as they glued themselves to their computer screens and phones. My favorite comments were that it was better than meditation or yoga class. I could definitely agree with that. I’d taken one yoga class in college and I don’t think I was meant to bend that way.

No matter how many positions Bash and I tried.

He was never far from my dirty mind, which I didn’t think was that dirty until he showed up in my life again. I wanted the day to end so we could indulge in each other. It’d been over a week since we started having sex, and I craved it more than the yummy cake that was being coated in glaze. I was tempted to take some of the glaze home with me and see how mesmerizing it was spread out over Bash’s perfect chest. I could picture the glaze pooling in every dip in his abs and that V at his hips that always made me salivate.

“Uhh, Cassie?” Isabel’s voice cut through my extra dirty thoughts.

“Umm. Yeah. Sorry. Thinking about that vegan breakfast hacks video we have for tomorrow,” I said, trying to cover for myself.

“Sure. Yeah, I wanted to see if you had all the shots you needed so we can move on to the next cake,” she said as she stirred up another glaze.

I tried not to drool.

Get it together.

“Yeah. Looks good. We’re doing white, green, and blue next?” I asked, trying to focus on the task at hand and not thinking about putting my hands all over Bash tonight.

“Yes,” Isabel said, moving to grab the next cake.

Then my phone pinged, and I pulled it out of my pocket.
